Energy Saving Lighting Fair

The Shoreline League of Democratic Women will host an energy-saving Lighting Fair with TechniArt Inc. during their free-to-the-public Green Lifestyle Fair, on Saturday, March 27. Residential consumers will be able to learn about ENERGY STAR® qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) and fixtures, and review the features/benefits of energy efficient lighting technologies. Green Lifestyle Fair attendees will be able to buy these products at deeply discounted prices to replace their highest-use bulbs and fixtures. Techniart will perform hands on demonstrations and provide information about ENERGY STAR lighting and other utility conservation programs and services.

On Saturday, April 4, the SLDW hosted the 3rd annual Green Lifestyle Fair featuring exhibitors of Energy Alternatives and Home Products at the Clinton Town Hall. New to the Fair was a Recycling area, an expanded Organanic Farming, Cooking and Gardening area, and a Children's Green Learning Corner!

The event was Free to the Public! The Green Lifestyle Fair attracted more than 600 shoreline citizens, and offered valuable insight into real world energy alternatives, conservation and efficiency initiatives, and the most pressing challenges affecting our environment today.

Seven expert speakers gave expert presentations during the day. The speaker roster is posted on our home page. We had nearly 50 exhibitors at the event in these categories:

1) Alternative Energy - Solar, Wind, Fuel Cell, Geothermal, Biodiesel

2) Energy Efficiency & Building Materials

3) Hybrid Automobiles

4) Contractors, Consultants and Builders

5) Green Lifestyle

6) Locally & Organically Grown

Guest Author Nancy Elizabeth Wallace at Green Lifestyle Fair

The SLDW is very honored to announce that author
Nancy Elizabeth Wallace will be our featured guest at the Green Book Fair held during the 4th Annual Green Lifestyle Fair! Ms. Wallace is a local author and illustrator of children's books, including Recycle Every Day! and her new book Planting Seeds. Wallace is known for her trademark three-dimensional artwork created with cut paper, scissors, and a glue stick. She has published more than 20 books during her career. She will be on hand at the Green Lifestyle Fair to sign books and meet the public. The Green Book Fair will carry the latest titles in green lifestyles for adults and children, recycling, and more.
